Abstract

An antistatic plastic composition capable of being processed by extrusion, moulding or injection moulding is obtained by mixing polyethylene or copolymers of ethylene containing up to 10% of propylene or butylene with 10% to 30% by weight of a furnace black or chanel black having a pH value of at least 7 or, if the sulphur content of the carbon black is at least 4% a pH value of at least 5, also having a specific resistance, measured at 300 atmospheres, of 0.05 and an arithmetically determined mean particle size of between 200 <\>rA and 500 <\>rA with 0.05% to 0.5% by weight of an organic peroxide and if desired with 0.5% to 4% by weight of sulphur.
