Abstract

1,047,940. Protective arrangements. ALLM€NNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Aug. 30, 1963 [Sept. 4, 1962], No. 34357/63. Heading H2K. When the current J 1 proportional to that in a protected circuit exceeds a reference current Jr a capacitor C in a static inverse time delay overcurrent relay arrangement is charged by the difference between the currents. In the arrangement shown, the reference current Jr flows through a diode V 3 and resistors R 1 , R 2 from an auxiliary source U 2 , a diode V 2 serving to keep this current constant. The current J 1 is obtained through a current transformer T and rectifier bridge L. Since the diode V 3 is conducting, it provides a path for the current J 1 until that current exceeds Jr. Thereafter the difference J 2 between these currents flows to capacitor C and resistor R. When the capacitor has been sufficiently charged a diode V 4 breaks down and a relay E is energized. This relay closes contacts E a to permit the rapid discharge of the capacitor and operates further contacts (not shown) to cause the opening of a circuitbreaker. The relay E may be a static device, e.g. a transistor.
