Abstract

A process for granulating short glass fibres either in the presence or in the absence of a liquid comprises feeding the short glass fibres from either a separator 3 (Fig. 1, not shown) or a disentangling machine 5 (Fig. 2, not shown) into a rotating drum 1 wherein they are granulated. The liquid, which may be water or an organic sizing agent which will not react with any resin with which the fibres may be subsequently mixed, may be sprayed on to the fibres in the granulating drum.
