Abstract

1,047,614. Feeding sheets. LEIPZIGER BUCHBINDEREIMASCHINENWERKE, VEB. Feb. 18, 1964, No. 6770/64. Heading B6B. In apparatus for separating sheets from the top of a stack in which separation is assisted by an air-blast directed at the edges of the top sheets, the air-blast is directed through a flexible nozzle 4, 6 having the upper wall 4 extended at 5 to rest on the top sheet 15 of a stack 14, whereby the nozzle is always directed towards the top sheets irrespective of the top level of the stack. As shown, the nozzle is surrounded by a casing 12 constructed as a stack stop 13 to register the stack; the air-blast may urge the top sheets into register with stops at the other side of the stack. The nozzle 4, 6 comprises top and bottom walls of flexible material which are held apart by spacers, and held in position by joints 7 which may be staples or plates. Compressed air from a hose 3 is supplied to a fixed nozzle 1 of rectangular cross-section which is attached to the flexible nozzle 4, 6. The bottom wall 6 of the flexible nozzle may be omitted.
