Abstract

1,047,376. Labelling machines. O. KIND. July 19, 1965, No. 30629/65. Heading B8F. A machine for applying labels to similar articles 3 moving on a conveyer 2 comprises a dispensing and printing device 5 provided with an applicator roller 7. The device 5 is adjustable heightwise to accommodate articles of different sizes and the feeler 16 is adjustable to alter the point at which the label is applied. As an article contacts the feeler a cam 10 is started which actuates the printing mechanism and causes a label to be dispensed to a position under the roller 7 which is driven downwards until it contacts an article to apply the label. Different mechanisms are described for depressing the device 5 which may be in a known form in which a lever is forced into a hollow handle to actuate the printing and label dispensing during the initial downward movement.
