Abstract
1,047,237. Helmets. M.L. AVIATION CO. Ltd. Nov. 26, 1964 [Nov. 26, 1963], No. 46694/63. Heading A3V. To facilitate putting on and taking off a sound alternating helmet 1 ear pads 10 normally biased inwardly by springs 11 are linked by a cord 12 to a visor 3 (Fig. 2, not shown), in such a way that raising the visor draws the pads back against the helmet. The cord 12 is wound on a capstan 14 which turns with the visor 3 about pivots 6 protected by an outer cover 7. A microphone 4 (Fig. 2, not shown) is mounted on the visor. The helmet shell is lined with sound-insulating material 5 and carries adjustable pads 8, 9 of expanded plastics material.
