Abstract
104,719. Western Electric Co., and McBerty, F. R. March 11, 1916. Addition to 3360/14. Automatic exchange systems.-Relates to a modification of the means for controlling the movement of a power-driven switch by number impulses described in the parent Specification. The invention is described as applied to the control of a switch 13<1> by impulses produced by the key 11 and relay 12, and subsequently by reverting-impulses produced in the relay 12<1> by the movement of a brush 28 of a selector 26 over a toothed segment 29. The contact 14 of the switch 13<1> is earthed during the movement of the switch from one stopping position to the next. When the relay 12 is energized, a circuit is completed over the back contact of relay 17 for the clutch magnet 13, and as soon as the switch begins to move, the contact 14 closes a circuit for the relays 17, 18. The relay 17 locks up under the control of relay 12, and the relay 18 completes a new circuit for the clutch magnet 13, which is maintained until the switch 13<1> reaches its first stopping position, when the contact 14 opens the circuit of relay 18 and thus arrests the switch. When the impulse relay 12 is de-energized and the contact 14 is also opened, the relay 17 deenergizes and prepares a fresh starting-circuit for the clutch magnet 13, which is closed when the relay 12 is energized by the next impulse. The control of the switch 13<1> by the relay 12' is effected by the relays 17<1>, 18' in exactly the same manner as by the relays 17, 18. Specification 5653/13 is also referred to.
