Abstract

1,046,453. Roller conveyers. MANUFACTURERS EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd. Oct. 26, 1962 [Oct. 27, 1961], No. 38457/61. Heading B8A. Powered rollers P of an outer curved track 12 are driven at a higher speed than the powered rollers P of an inner curved track 14, the two tracks being interconnected by gearing for actuation by a single drive input. The speed differential ensures accurate negotiation of articles being conveyed around the bend. Rollers D are idlers. Each pair of rollers P, D is carried by a spindle 16 which has a double sprocket fixed on its outer end, alternate sprockets 19 having more teeth than the intermediate sprockets 20. Chains 21 extend between adjacent sprockets 19, 20 and only the rollers Pare keyed to the spindles 16. On driving the centre spindle from a motor 27 (not shown), all the rollers P will be driven. The whole of the assembly is supported by a framework 31 which may be carried on castors. The bend may be banked.
