Abstract

The quenching apparatus of the parent invention is modified in that the basket takes the form of a releasable extraction device k through which liquid flows and which retains the quenched articles by magnetic action. As shown the device comprises an extraction tank l resting on a collar m secured to the outside top of the extraction conduit e, and either releasable magnets O and q (Fig. 1) or a winding r with steel core s (Fig. 2) fitted inside the tank. For magnets, the magnetic surfaces thereof may be clad with a readily releasable metal covering disposed for attracting the quenched articles. <PICT:1046388/C6-C7/1> <PICT:1046388/C6-C7/2>
