Abstract

Buckles.-In buckles of the type in which the strap is secured between a sliding bar and a crossbar of the frame, blocks f one at each end of the sliding bar e work in channels d in opposite sides of the buckle frame a, the ends of the channels adjacent the cross-bar c and the parts of the blocks working in the channels being wedge-shaped, so that when the sliding bar is moved from the position shown in Fig. 2 to that shown in Fig. 3, the strap is wedged against the cross-bar c. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 9, the buckle comprises a plate a having at opposite edges upstanding flanges a<1> provided with slots d inclined to the plate; a roller c having extensions working in the slots serves to bind the strap against the part c<1> of the plate. The roller e may be replaced by a sliding bar, preferably trough-shaped with two serrated edges.
