Abstract
1,044,805. Electric analogue calculating; counters. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Jan. 31, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 4345/64. Headings G4D and G4G. An integrating device comprises a transformer having a ferro-magnetic core and a first and a second winding, and an amplifier having an output connected to the second winding and an input connected in series with the first winding. In the circuit shown in Fig. 2, the input voltage u to be integrated is applied to the winding 3 in series with the input of a high-gain amplifier 6. For this circuit where # is the flux in the core 2, w1 and w2 are the numbers of turns in windings 3 and 4, V is the gain of amplifier 6, and the other quantities are as shown. If V is large the second term is small and the relationship between u and # is nearly integral. If the core 2 has an air gap the current ia is a measure of the time integral of the input voltage and may be evaluated either directly or as a voltage drop across the resistance 5. With this arrangement the integration time may be over one minute; for longer integration times the output across R2 may be fed to a switching amplifier S which reverses the connections of the input signal to the input terminals and passes a pulse to a pulse counter Z each time the current ia reaches a predetermined maximum value, Fig. 3 (not shown).
