Abstract
1,043,263. Blow moulding machines. F. SCURATI, [trading as OMEA-DI SCURATI FEDERICO]. May 2, 1963 [May 3, 1962], No. 17358/63. Heading B5A. A machine for blow-moulding a hollow body having a side opening, comprises a frame 1, 3 carrying mould sections 2, between which an extruded tubular section 4 may be placed, and a blowing assembly having a tubular nozzle 26 which may be moved from one position to another to stretch the end of the tube before the mould sections are closed. The nozzle 26 is mounted by means of a disc 27 on a vertically adjustable hollow cylinder20, connected to a sleeve 14 which is hingedly connected to a rod 12 and is slidably mounted on guides 9. The other end of rod 12 is hingedly connected to a stopping lever 6. In operation the inclination of the nozzle is adjusted by disc 27 and the tubular section 4 is extruded until it contacts the lever 6. A pneumatic cylinder 16 then moves the member 14 and hence the nozzle 26 and the rod 12 along the guides. Movement of rod 12 pivots the stopping lever 6 outwardly. Thus the tubular section 4 is expanded to the transverse dimension of the mould. The mould sections are then closed and the body blown.
