Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1042481/C2/1> where R is an alkyl or aralkyl radical. The compounds are prepared by activating the carboxyl function of the corresponding b -esters of N-benzyloxy carbonyl-L-aspartic acid and reacting it with L-phenylalanine amide or a salt thereof. The acid may be activated by the formation of a mixed anhydride by reaction with a derivative of a sterically hindered organic acid or a derivative of carbonic acid, or by the formation of an active ester or azide or by the use of a condensing agent. Examples relate to the preparation of compounds wherein R is t-butyl and benzyl.
