Abstract
1,041,952. Operating clutches. LUK LAMELLEN UND KUPPLUNGSBAU GESELLSCHAFT. March 9, 1965 [March 11, 1964], No. 9847/65. Heading F2L. A clutch release collar 12 for an automobile friction clutch comprises a stamped sheet metal ring 15 to which is secured by welding, brazing, riveting, or bonding, three equi-spaced stamped sheet-metal radial arms each of which has an end flange 17, parallel to and spaced from the periphery 18 of the disc 15, and side flanges 20 projecting away from the disc 15, which latter is of a material, e.g. bronze, brass, an alloy steel, of lower coefficient of friction than that of the arms, which may be of hardened steel. The inner ends 11 of clutch release levers 7 are urged against the arms, between the flanges 20, by torsion springs 19. engaging the flanges 17. In Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the arms are separate, whilst in Fig. 1 they extend from an integral inner ring 16.
