Abstract

A lining 7 for a furnace, oven, kiln or the like 1, comprises a plurality of juxtapositioned mesh screens. The inner screens are of coarser mesh than the outer screens. The screens are surrounded by an insulating lining 8 and shell 9, all carried by a base 6 which incorporates heating means 4. The base carries charge support means 3.
