Abstract

Means for localizing the tension on a running yarn, e.g. when drawing synthetic polymer yarn, comprises a convexly-curved member with an exterior channel in which the yarn runs. The number may be a channelled bar of chromiumplated stainless steel, and the profile of the channel may be substantially insular or take the form of a logarithmic spiral as described in Specification 1,041,512, with or without heating or cooling tubes.
