Abstract

An aqueous alkaline hypochlorite solution suitable for general household cleaning and disinfection purposes, e.g. sodium hypochlorite, is perfumed by containing it in a squeeze bottle and admixing with it 0.05-0.5% by weight based on the total weight of the solution, of a perfume which is soluble in the hypochlorite solution to a degree not exceeding 5% by weight of the total amount added, e.g. geraniol and/or phenyl ethyl alcohol. The squeeze bottle which may be made from high density polyethylene or polypropylene may have an orifice which is 1/8 -\ba1/16 inch in diameter.ALSO:An aqueous alkaline hypochlorite bleach solution suitable for use in the bleaching of textile fabrics, e.g. sodium hypochlorite, is perfumed for domestic purposes by containing it in a squeeze bottle and admixing with it 0.05-0.5% by weight, based on the total weight of the solution, of a perfume which is soluble in the hypochlorite solution to a degree not exceeding 5% by weight of the total amount added, e.g. geraniol and/or phenyl ethyl alcohol. The squeeze bottle which may be made from high density polyethylene or polypropylene may have an orifice which is 1/8 -\ba1/16 inch in diameter.
