Abstract

1,039,462. Laminates. GEBR LUSCHER A.G. April 16, 1963 [April 13, 1962], No. 14945/63. Heading B5N. A lightweight structure element comprises thin metal, e.g. aluminium, skins enclosing thin-walled tubular spacers, e.g. of plastic or plastic-impregnated paper, at least one end of each of which is of greater diameter than its axial length, the components being secured together by adhesion or welding. Reinforcing bars or strips in parallel or lattice formation may extend through the spacers and may protrude from the element as a securing means. The interior of the element may be filled with heat-insulating material such as foaming plastics.
