Abstract

1,038,950. Cleaning windows. CALIFORNIA CAR WASH SYSTEMS, Inc. June 22, 1965 [Feb. 15, 1965], No. 26440/65. Heading A4F. A window cleaning device comprises a hollow cleaning head attached to a handle and having an elongated working surface 10 of V-section in a plane transverse to its longitudinal axis, the surface 10 having openings 12, 14, 16, 18 for supplying water to the window surface, scrubbing teeth 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36 at the sides of the said openings, squeegee teeth 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, and suction openings 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64 for removing water from the window surface. Water is supplied to the cleaning head through the handle which is connected by a hose to a reservoir from which water is forced by compressed air. The reservoir is disposed in a housing which also contains a Venturi device, to which compressed air is supplied for generating the suction to be applied to the suction openings in the cleaning head, and a chamber for receiving the withdrawn used water.
