A device for heating the face or other part of the body comprises a heating element 9 arranged between layers of non-inflammable material 15 and enclosed in and coextensive with a cover of which the surface intended to be placed against the body in use is made of moisture-impervious material 12. An additional moisture-impervious or absorbent lining may be placed between the cover and the body. A face mask has openings 56, for the eyes and nose, a flap 7 for arranging on the crown of the head and fasteners 3, 4 (Fig. 1 not shown). Thermostats (not shown) and a heat control device (Fig. 1 not shown) may be incorporated.
