A signal frequency is measured by applying the signal (Vg) over a capacitor C1 to a diode D1 shunted by an oppositely conducting emitter/ base junction of a transistor VT1 with common base connection, the desired measurement being indicated by an ammeter M shunting a further capacitor C2 in the collector circuit.
