Abstract

1, 36, 609. Centrifugal strainers. HEIN, LEHMANN & CO., A.G. Dec. 10,1964 [Feb. 21, 1964], No. 50247/64. Heading B1D. A filter construction for a centrifugal strainer separator comprises a smooth sided filtering screen 2 backed by perforated supporting screen 1, screen 1 being formed with raised lands 1b, 1c on which screen 2 rests. The lands may be arranged on a triangular lattice (Fig. 1, not shown) and 2. 5 mm apart. The lands may be formed by pressing a flat perforate sheet and their tops flattened by rolling. The lands engage 2% of the surface area of screen 2. The screens may be connected together by welding or soldering. Figure 4 shows part of a frusto-conical drum, screen 1 abutting annular rings of the drum.
