Abstract

103,615. Willoughby, W. Aug. 21, 1916. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic hubs.-An inner disk-wheel member 1 has a rigid hollow hub chamber 5 communicating through apertures 6, which may be fitted with valves 7, with radial cylinders 2. Pistons with flexible cups 14 are connected to bosses 18 on an outer rigid rim 3 by links 16 pivoted at both ends. Plates or rods 21 fixed to the rim and carrying rollers 22 engage within recesses 20 in the inner member. Flexible shields 26 cover the open ends of the cylinders and the links. Disk-like dust-shields 27 with central clearances are secured to the rim and overlap the central member. Specifications 17967/07, 20033/10, 20541/12, and 28184/13 are referred to.
