Abstract
1,035,401. Colour television. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. Feb. 27, 1964 [Feb. 27, 1963], No. 8198/64. Heading H4F. Colour television signals from a camera 1 are applied to a colour monitor receiver 4 by way of change-over switches 65, 66, 67 which are controlled by a composite line- and framefrequency pulse train whereby the camera signals are interrupted over an area 62, which may be adjusted in position, and replaced by potentials from three potentiometers 71, 72, 73 which are preset to cause the area to assume a reference colour, e.g. white. In operation the area 62 is positioned adjacent an area of corresponding colour in the image due to the camera signals and serve to permit the colour balance of the apparatus to be checked and corrected. The composite pulse train is formed by combining in an adder 63 line- and framefrequency pulses 58 and 59 which are derived from line- and frame-frequency synchronizing pulses 52, 53 by way of delay and clipping circuits, such as 54 and 57. The delays are controlled by potentiometers 56 and 60 which are actuated by a common joy-stick type of control 61. It is stated that the group of elements 5 which form the subject of the invention may be incorporated in a camera chain or a receiver, or may be a separate device which is introduced only for adjustment checks.
