Abstract

Kinematographapparatus.-In pin feed-mechanisms for kinematograph apparatus, gripping-members are provided in combination with the pins so as to avoid tearing of the firm at the perforations; the invention may also be applied to film-registering devices. As shown in Fig. 3. a pad P is formed with a spherical seating P<2>, which engages the pin 0 and is pressed on to it by a spring P<1>. A pad P<3>, having a recess to receive the pin C and to limit its entry into the film perforations, co-operates with the pad P to grip the film J, and is mounted on a pivot P<5> and so constructed that it is capable of a limited angular movement. The pads are carried by arms F, F<1>, each of which forms a spring-held pivoted extension of an arm which is operated by a crank at one end and is anchored at the other end so as to cause the pads to move in a D-sha.ped path. In a modification, I ig. 5, the pin 0 is provided with a shoulder 0', which is housed in a access O<3> in the arm F and is pressed outwards by a spring O<2>. The pad P is connected to the arm F by ties which limit its movement, and the parts are so proportioned that the pin enters the recess in the pad P<3> to its full depth before the pad P engages the film. In a further modification, a stationary plate with a long recess replaces the pad P<3>, the recess being preferably of such a depth that it limits the entry of the pin into the film perforations.
