An electric space heater secured to the legs of a table comprises a flat-topped casing 5 having a perforated periphery 9, an impeller 8 driven by a motor 6 and an electric heating element 10. As shown, air enters the casing 5 through an aperture 11 and leaves the heater through the perforations in the periphery 9. The heating element may be in sections controlled by switches 13 to provide different heats.
