Abstract

1,034,508. Machine tool details. W. BAHMULLER. Oct. 16, 1963 [Nov. 3, 1962], No. 40828/63. Heading B3K. A mandrel comprises a threaded stud 2 to engage the cutter 13 which abuts a surface 14 on a rotatable ring 4, the other surface of the ring having an inclined surface engaging a corresponding surface 7 on the mandrel or on a second ring. To release the cutter, a tommy bar is inserted in a hole 15 and the ring 4 is rotated to allow the cutter to be unscrewed. Alternatively, the ring 4 may be engageable by a spanner. The ring 4 is returned to its normal position by a resilient insert 12 or a coil spring.
