Abstract

103,413. Klyne, C. H., and Baker, C. J. May 19, 1916. Mica or similar insulating-material used in electric apparatus, such as switch or fuse constructions, is strengthened by bending metal around its edges, such metal being also employed for securing the mica &c., to the base or other fixed part of the apparatus. As shown in Figures 2 and 3 one or more mica plates 1 are bound along the edges by brass strips 2. Fig. 6 shows, in section, a modification in which the strips 2 are formed with a web to increase their resistance to bending stresses.
