Abstract
1,033,362. Fuel cells. LEESONA CORPORATION. April 17, 1963 [April 27, 1962 (2)], No. 15038/63. Heading H1B. A fuel cell has a non-porous palladium/silver alloy membrane coated on the surface fronting the fuel gas with a thin film of palladium black (advantageously applied as disclosed in Specification 1,033,365). Preferably a cathode as disclosed in Specification 1,014,587 (bi-porous cobalt-nickel activated) and an alkaline electrolyte (KOH) are used. The " black " may also be of platinum or rhodium or a mixture thereof or palladium mixed with rhodium or platinum/ iridium.
