A manipulator for rolled stock comprises a pair of rollers 2 between which stock 3 is gripped and rotated. Each roller is formed from a number of discs (Fig. 3, not shown) offset from one another by a distance equal to their thickness so that, on rotation of the rollers about their supporting shafts 1, the stock is rotated through 90 degrees. The housings 8 of the shafts can be moved apart to the dotted positions in Fig. 1 by an actuating rod 9 and link 10.
