Abstract

A spinning ring has one or more annular inserts consisting of a high molecular weight synthetic linear polymer and so positioned as to afford a bearing surface for the traveller. The polymer may be polytetrafluorethylene, polyhexamethylene adiparicide, poly-epsilon-capolactam, polyoxymethylene, polyethylene terephthalate. An insert may be disposed inside the ring, but does not extend to the top or bottom of it, and it may be lubricated by a wick. The traveller may be of rectangular or "ear" shape.
