Abstract

1,030,470. Endless conveyers. MARSHALL'S TEA MACHINERY CO. Ltd. March 19, 1965, No. 11680/65. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F4] Endless conveyers for drying tea comprise pivoted trays 1, Fig. 1, supported between endless, spaced-apart chains (not shown) passing around pinions 2 and 3, which trays carry the tea on both the upper and lower flights. Each tray comprises a plane, rectangular, perforated sheet of metal 4, Fig. 3, with end blocks formed of parts 5a, 5b on opposite sides of the sheet at either edge, the parts 5a on the lower surface providing a bearing 8 for a pivot pin 9 by which the tray is secured to the chain and along which strengthening shoes 6 are spacedly mounted. In operation, the parts 5a of the pivoted plates are engaged by a support rail 10 so that adjacent sheets 4 overlap until immediately in front of the pinion 2 at the point 11 and similarly a bottom guide rail 14 bears the parts 5b to a point 15 prior to the pinion 3.
