Holes are formed in moulded articles by means of cores each comprising a pin 19 fitting telescopically into a tube 22, the tube opening having an inner wall defined by a straight entrance portion 33 and a diverging inner portion 34 (Fig. 8, not shown), so that flash is removed upon separation of the pin and tube. The example illustrated is for making insulated housings for electrical connectors (Fig. 1, not shown), the mould comprising three plates 15, 16, 17 separated by springs 24, 25.
