Abstract

1,027,960. Waveband switching circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. March 29, 1965 [March 28, 1964], No. 13154/65. Heading H3Q. In a radio receiver the effective damping and hence the bandwidth of the input circuit is maintained constant when changing from one waveband to another. The input circuit comprises tapped inductor 2, 3 parallel tuned by variable capacitor 4, the aerial 8 being connected to the tapping point on the inductor. A device 9, e.g. a transistor, loading the tuned circuit is connected to the common point of series-connected capacitors 5, 6 one end of which is connected to the free end of the tuned circuit. Switch 7 is arranged so that on one waveband the other end of the series capacitors is earthed, i.e. they are connected across the whole of the inductance 2, 3 in the second waveband, however, it is connected to the tapping point on the inductors, i.e. the capacitors are connected across inductance 2 alone. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), both parts 2, 3 of the inductor are tapped and a twopole, two-throw switch connected so as to provide wave-band switching as well.
