In a deck construction consisting of a frame comprising an arbitrary number of rigid elements, e.g. AH, AJ, JD and DH, forming the pressure (or stressed) elements thereof, and a tie element which intersects elements 3, both forms of elements being secured at points in the group A, J, D, H, at Castone form of element e.g. is divided into strands or cables 2 or the like, which are dispersed divergently over the deck from one point A, J, D or H, and then gathered convergently and secured to an opposite point, the tie elements being interconnected where they intersect. In a modification stressed elements of four like adjacent frames are interconnected or combined to form a common element.
