Abstract

One side of the casing of a laundering appliance, e.g. a washing machine or spin dryer, is wholly supported by a single wheel, the axis of which is fixed and lies in the same vertical plane as the resultant of the horizontal forces transmitted to the casing during operation. The other side of the casing is supported on two retractable wheels, or on two feet when the wheels are retracted. Even when retracted, the wheels are held against the floor by springs to prevent rattling. The feet may be dispersed with.
