An arrangement for clamping the outer end of a balance-spring 5, Fig. 2 not shown, comprises a sleeve 9 fixed vertically underneath a balance cock, and inside which is revolvably carried a rod 16 the lower end having an eccentric portion 17 to clamp the end 5 between itself and the sleeve 9. The rod 16 has a screw head 18, and an inner face 14 of a recess 13 is concave, conforming to the outer shape of the balancespring. Upward movement of the rod 16 allows the end 5 to enter the recess 13 and a lowering plus rotating movement of the rod 16 clamps the end in position. The sleeve 9 is secured in the balance cock by a screw 8.
