Abstract

The invention comprises the title salt of the formula <FORM:1025920/C2/1> and its preparation by reacting chlorpromazine or a salt thereof with pamoic acid or a salt thereof. Preferably a slight excess of the acid is used. A pharmaceutical composition in the form of a liquid preparation for oral administration comprises a microcrystalline suspension of the title salt in a pharmaceutically acceptable aqueous carrier. The preparation may be prepared by precipitation in the aqueous carrier.
