Abstract

Olefin polymers, e.g. polypropylene, prepared by using organo-metallic catalysts and titanium salts in the presence of organic liquid dispersing agents and freed completely from the agents by filtration and subsequent distillation are purified by treating the olefin polymer in the presence of diethanolamine and methanol under pressure, separating the olefin polymer from the liquid, and subsequently washing the polymer a plurality of times with anhydrous methanol under a pressure of from 1 to 10 atmospheres and at a temperature of from 65 DEG to 150 DEG C.
