Picture frames.-The rails a are provided with grooves e to receive a backing or backing-strip g of uniform thickness, the grooves being formed in the walls of the recess for the glass and picture and at a distance from the seat f for the glass equal to the thickness of the glass and picture. Parts of the frame may be cut away to form spaces for guiding the backing into the grooves. In the case of an oval or round frame, a divided oval or round backing-strip may be used.
