Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1025569/C2/1> where R and R1 are C1- 8 alkyl, R2 i H or C1- 5 alkyl, R3 is CH2 or C=O, n is 1 or 2, X is oxygen or sulphur (same or different), Y is C1- 3 alkylene, phenylene or carbethoxymethylene. They are prepared by reacting (RO)(R1O)P (X)XYC(O)R2 with HXR3(CH2)nXH. O,O - Diethyl - 5 - [1 - carbethoxy - 2 - oxopropyl-1] phosphorothioate is prepared by reacting (C2H5O)2P(O)(SK) with C2H5OC(O)CH ClC(3)CH3.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise organophosphorus compounds of formula <FORM:1025569/A5-A6/1> where R and R1 are C1-8 alkyl, R2 is H or C1-5 alkyl, R3 is CH2 or C = 0,n is 1 or 2, X (same or different) is D or S, Y is C1-3 alkylene, phenylene or carbethoxymethylene. Aqueous dispersions, emulsions, wettable powders, dusts and vapours are specified.
