Abstract

102,537. Jacobs, S. G. Feb. 5, 1916. Bodies; hoods.-The upper part of the body of a motor-car is of cylindrical form, and the corresponding lower part may be similarly shaped. The rear upper section a' is arranged to turn down about pivots in the axis of the body into a pocket c behind or below the seat. The rear windows f<1> can be turned down about the same axis into pockets in the sides e' independently of the section a', and the forward windows f turn down similarly into pockets in the door e. The sides and doors e, e' have preferably a conical shape, as shown. The forward cylindrical section a is provided with one or more hinged or sliding sections a". The quadrant-shaped edge frame members b<1> can be removed when the rear part is opened, as shown in Fig. 4.
