Abstract

1,023,986. Mine cage loading installations. DUSTERLOH FABRIK FUR BERGWERKSBEDARF G.m.b.H. April 9, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 14782/64. Headings B8E and B8L. A safety system for a pneumatically actuated pit cage charging installation, comprising shaft gates 2, loading platforms 3, a shaft arrestor 4, an inserter 5 and a truck arrester 6, includes an electric switch 8 adapted to be set for man winding or goods winding, the arrangement being such that in the man winding position of the switch only the shaft gates and loading platforms may be actuated. In the man winding position of the switch 8, as shown, the incoming cage 1 provided with magnets 22, closes a magnetic switch 7 thereby energizing a magnetic valve 9 to the valve piston to the right. Compressed air from a line 20 passes through the valve 9 to a valve 14 controlling the shaft gates 2 and a valve 13, controlling flow of compressed air to rams 3a for actuating the loading platforms 3, is vented through a line 23 and the valve 9. Flow of compressed air to a single lever control valve 11, controlling the shaft arrester 4, the inserter 5 and the truck arrester 6, is prevented by air switches 17, 18, 19. The loading platforms 3 are raised automatically on departure of the cage which opens the switch 7 and breaks the circuit to the valve 9 whereby compressed air passes through the line 23 to return the valve 13 to the position shown in which compressed air passes through the air switch 19 to the rams 3a. In the goods winding position of the switch 8, the magnetic switch 7 closes the circuit of a coil 10b of an overriding valve 10, thereby lowering the valve spindle. A venting valve 12, which can only be opened when the lever of the control valve is in the inoperative position, is actuated to allow the passage of compressed air to the valve 10 and thence, through the line 32 to the valve 11, to the air switch 17 and to the foot or hand valve 16. By means of the valve 11, air may now be fed to the rams of the loading platforms 3, the shaft arrester 4 and the inserter 5. The shaft gates may be actuated manually by the valve 14 or automatically, on arrival and departure of the mine cage, by leaving the valve 14 open. The truck arrester 6 is opened by means of the valve 16 and a rail valve 15, when actuated by a truck, releases the compressed air for moving the arrester into the closed position.
