Abstract

[Also in Division H5] The electric heaters 5 of a diffusion pump are arranged in horizontally-mounted tubular containers 3 having parallel heat-conducting plates 4 immersed in the propellent medium. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the edges of the plates 4 are joined by a wall 6. In further embodiments, Fig. 3 (not shown), parallel tubular containers extend through the casing wall and Fig. 4 (not shown) three heaters are arranged with 120 degrees spacing.
