Abstract
A complex of silver iodide, silver bromide or mixtures thereof, bromide ions and dimethyl formamide dissolved in dimethyl formamide is prepared by dissolving the silver halide in dimethyl formamide, adding hydrobromic acid and then adding a further portion of dimethyl formamide. Pyridine, pyrrolidone, N-dimethylaniline, butylamine or dibutylamine may be used instead of dimethyl formamide.
