1,023,350. Protective arrangements. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 27, 1965 [Feb. 12, 1964; March 11, 1964], Nos. 5885/64 and 10309/64. Heading H2H. A switching device comprises a pair of series connected spark gaps arranged to be triggered simultaneously has a biasing voltage applied to each spark gap, the series of which voltages are in opposition to one another so that the biasing voltage produces substantially no voltage with respect to the two outer terminals of the switching device. Thus the switching device will be rendered conductive immediately after being triggered and will be maintained conductive.
