1,022,112. Sizing &c. warps. COTTON SILK and MAN-MADE FIBRES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Aug. 31,1962 [July 25,1961], No. 26827/61. Heading D1M. A warp Y running through a sizing or other machine encounters the teeth of a comb C at a large angle of incidence i and a small depth of penetration h determined by a guide rod G. Combs C and rods G are mounted on a rotating cylinder so as to move in the same direction as the warp, but more slowly, each comb entering the warp before the preceding one leaves it. Combs of ordinary construction may be replaced by alternate large and small discs assembled on a shaft, the difference in their diameters controlling the depth of penetration h; or a helically grooved rod may be used.
