Abstract
102,145. Mazade, M. A. Nov. 5, 1915, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Joints with yielding outer pipe or sleeve compressed.-A tube a, Fig. 1, of rubber or like elastic material is clamped on to a metal or other rigid tube b by screwing on to the tube a connecting- sleeve c previously passed on to the pipe b and formed with a conical opening 1 and with an internal cylindrical or tapering rounded thread 2. The end of the tube a may either be smooth or moulded with a rounded thread of somewhat greater diameter than the thread in the sleeve c. A locking-device may also be provided in order to retain the sleeve securely in position on the tube a. As shown in Fig. 4, the ends of the sleeve c are slit at d and furnished internally with studs f, which are forced into contact with the tube a bv means of a tapering threaded ring g co-aperating with a threaded portion e on the exterior of the sleeve. In a modified form of locking-device, Fig. 5, a spring ring r is provided, having a point r<1> which projects through a hole in the sleeve into the material of the tube a, while the pipe b is provided with a flange b<1> engaging the flanged end of the sleeve c.
