Abstract
1,021,315. Packaging. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN, NARODNI PODNIK. Sept. 3, 1962 [Sept. 1, 1961], No. 33668/62. Headings B8A and B8C. In a machine for packaging cigarettes is provided a device wherein the cigarettes are removed in rows from a partitioned magazine 1, and fed along a guideway 4 by camoperated conveyer flights 16 which are deflected rearwardly and downwardly from the guideway 4 after inserting the cigarettes in sleeves or boxes 6, the flights 16 being connected at each end by bell-crank levers 11 to two endless chains 8 mounted on sprockets 9, 10, the elbow of each lever 11 being provided with a roller 13 which engages a track 14 in one of two fixed cams 7. The tracks 14 follow the direction of the chains 8 until they reach the sprocket 10, where the tracks 14 are directed inwardly as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, so that the flights 16 dip under the sleeves 6 and then return to their operative position. The sleeves 6 are advanced on an endless chain along a downwardly sloping path so that the sleeves are presented at different levels to three filling positions. As each row is advanced by a flight 16 the bottom layer is pushed into one sleeve, the second layer into the next sleeve and the top layer into a further sleeve. A known instrument 17 checks the number of cigarettes moving along the guideway 4.
