Abstract

1,021,155. Vibratory elements. DAINI SEIKOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHA. July 9, 1963 [Sept. 6, 1962], No. 27080/63. Heading G5J. [Also in Division G3] In an electric timepiece, a time train is driven in accordance with a frequency controlled by a round bar vibrating reed vibrator which is electromagnetically maintained. Although nominally round, the bar 2b or 26, Figs. 1 to 16 (not shown), will normally have a slight ovality of cross-section. In order that it shall vibrate with a single tune amplitude-frequency characteristic to stabilize the vibration period and improve the resonance sharpness, it is supported at nodal points so that its long or short diameter lies in the direction of the excitation from the magnets 28, 28a, Figs. 14-16 (not shown). The supporting cross-pins define nodal points 0À224 l from the rod ends. These pins are clamped against a plane support surface on a trough-shaped support member 22 which is adjustable toward and away from the magnets carried on a base 21.
